 My computer did not bring the installation disks and drivers. August 20, 2010

This computer is excellent, but did not bring the drivers. I had to reinstall windows, since my mother does not handle the English language, and surprise had no driver, I did not care much, but after installing all the drivers I noticed that the touchpad does not work the scroll. For the rest is very good, my computer!

I bought this laptop about 2 months ago and I must say that it is awesome. It runs fast. HD movies look awesome and it runs very smoothly The keyboard is soft and very comfortable too. The only problems I have are with the touch-pad (very uncomfortable)and the control panel on top of the keyboard which easily gets smudge with fingerprints if used with hands that are not so clean.

br /On the whole, I'd definitely recommend this laptop. I use it for college for engineering and Computer Science tasks. I even ran it once as a server. If I could, I'd get another.

Very disappointed with the quality of this computer. From bad keyboard design to hard drive failure in 4 weeks.
br /Gateway support is really bad. I'll just never buy a Gateway product ever again.

Had this notebook for a week I am highly satisfied with my purchase. The build quality is quite good, wifi connects well, the webcam is good and the hardware specifications are good for the price. After considering an HP and MSI laptop instead I ultimately picked this one. The general views on the Gateway laptop series are mixed and range from touch pads that don't work correct, etc. I am still on the fence when it comes to the sound quality of the speakers. They are not the best but definitely not the worst I have ever heard. Got it on amazon for $50 less than the current price.
br /The pros:
br /1. A good value laptop for price.
br /2. Not much included bloatware. EarthLink and Net Flicks only.
br /3. Can run some recent games well as well as useful for basic daily usage.
br /The cons:
br /1. The silver hinge between the screen and the base of the computer can become worn out and scratched with use over time.
br /2. The clicking of the touch pad can occur randomly. The touch pad can take some getting used to but once you do, you will love the multi-touch as much as I do. After using multi-touch I cannot go back to a regular touch pad.
br /3. Battery life is far from the best or even moderate. The battery life on minimal brightness, no sound and no wifi is about 2 hours and 40+ minutes. Not great but wish it was better.
br /4. It is a finger print magnet. After a normal days use the entire top cover will be covered in smudges. A microfiber should have been included such as with other manufacturers like HP.
br /5. One thing that scares me is that the webcam has no light on or near it to show that is is active. This can be a huge privacy concern if your machine were to be hacked
