Good laptop. I was looking for a basic laptop for personal use. This Asus fits the bill. The shipment was delivered as promised and the laptop arrived in great shape. I have loaded MS Office on it and have been very pleased with the product.
br /The selling points were 4 GB of ram and a large hard drive (about 500 GB). The price with shipping was less than $450. Thanks Amazon for a good product that was sold as advertised to me.

This computer does everything you would expect. I think for the price it was great deal. Bought it to replace my wifes old computer. This computer is larger than others we have which seems like a good thing but the with the extra space comes the numeric keypad on the keyboard. This moves things to the left (compared to old computer without keypad) and puts the space bar and touch pad off center in relation to the screen. Both my wife and daughter have commented that they don't like that but figure they will get used to it. That is the only complaint and that has more to do with the buying a computer with a screen this big than with this particular model. If you are already used to the larger notebooks this should not be an issue.

I ordered this computer, and it arrived with a black screen. When I called ASUS customer service, they suggested I could purchase an additional service CD for $30. After that didn't work, I opted to return my computer for a new one, which the customer service person said would be shipped the next day. After a week, I called to tell them it had not yet arrived, and I was informed that this product is on back-order. I am getting my money back. After two weeks, and much time on the phone, I'm exactly where I started, with no computer.

[When purchasing such an expensive item I thought I would receive paperwork that showed what features, a stamp verifying refurbishing, a manual (more than a quick start guide) and something with contact info for the company I bought it from. NONE of these were present. As I DIDN'T have a computer to go through the Amazon website etc. I was screwed. I had my sister in another state access my info to give me the sellers contact info. After 20 minutes they found a phone #.
br / I will say the seller were VERY GOOD about returning the computer once I reached them. At least the woman who answered the phone was great- the guy kept stonewalling me and saying check your email----I CAN'T check email and print an RMA without a computer - don't you get it!??????????? So that's my review.
